The Remarkability Score

The instrument at the centre of the catalogue: a calibrated measure of whether content will actually land — scored before publication, verified against real audience response. One number, with the working shown — not a black box.

What it measures

Most content ships on instinct and is measured after the fact, when the cost is already sunk. The Remarkability Score inverts that: content signal is measured before publication, so the decision to publish — or to rework, or to hold — is made with evidence rather than hope.

Each piece is scored across six dimensions. The dimensions are deliberately unnamed in print — they are named in the room, as part of an engagement — so the instrument stays honest rather than becoming a checklist to game.

Calibration and verification

A score that is never checked against reality is an opinion with a number attached. The Remarkability Score sits on a verification layer — the calibration spine of the catalogue — where instrument output is checked against real audience response. Scores are not asserted; they are earned against what audiences actually did.

The margin of trust

Every score arrives with its own margin of trust — an honest confidence interval stating how much weight the number can bear. A 73 delivered as “68–78” is a different act from a 73 delivered as gospel: it tells you what the instrument knows, and what it doesn’t. False certainty is the one thing the catalogue refuses to ship.

Who it serves

CMOs and content leaders who need to know whether work will land before it ships. Heads of research deciding what to investigate and publish. Banks and B2B media organisations building thought-leadership platforms. Event and publishing businesses choosing which of a hundred captured moments deserve to become the article, the podcast, the pitch.

Where it lives

The Remarkability Score is the flagship of the Contexxt Lab instrument catalogue, developed in the open at contexxt.at. The catalogue exists to keep it honest.
